The CEO and Co-Founder of Privinvest Group, Iskandar Safa was born in 1955 in Beirut, Lebanon. He attended the American University, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1978. He proceeded to obtain a Master’s degree in Business Administration from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France). He was thereafter engaged in a number of ventures, among them managing construction operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he spent several years.

He began his first steps in the shipbuilding industry in the early nineties when he bought Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie (CMN), a shipyard based in the French City of Cherbourg. His team specialized in vessel design and production, and can make vessels of up to 70m.

In 2007, Iskandar Safa was in the limelight again. He collaborated with Al Aïn International to form Abu Dhabi Mar (ADM). Later on in 2011, Privinvest acquired exclusive ownership of ADM after buying out its partners, and is now one of the leading privately-owned shipbuilding groups in Middle East and Europe with major naval and civilian clientele spread around the world. Though headquartered in Middle East, Privinvest Group has well equipped branches in Germany, France, Mediterranean and the United Kingdom.

Iskandar Safa has further diversified the interests of Privinvest to include environmental issues, with the R&D focusing Marine Renewable Energies such as turbine and hydrokinetic industry.
