Videos about Transition

After you've viewed some of the videos on the "Videos About What's Coming" page, you may get the idea that there's not much hope for us. However, Transition is that hope, as these videos will show you.

Beyond Copenhagen - Now what?
Richard Heinberg, one of the major prophets of the coming times, speaks about what's going to happen, given the failure of the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Summit. In this 20-minute video, he says that Transition is the solution to the problems facing the world. The Power of Community
How does a nation get through the end of the age of oil - and thrive doing it? That's a question we're going to have to face sooner or later. Luckily, there's a model for doing that, a country that has met its oil-end challenge, and can show us how to do the same thing. Even better, that country is only 90 miles off the shores of the United States: it's called Cuba. This movie tells and shows us how Cuba survived its own oil-end challenge, when the Soviet Union collapsed and withdrew its support from them. It's an uplifting, encouraging, and informative film, whose message - if we have the clarity of mind to learn from it - shows us the path we can follow when our moment arrives.

Time's Up! An Uncivilized Solution
This video is Episode 175 of Peak Moment: Locally Resilient Living for Challenging Times. Peak Moment Television has several video series, among them "The Wealth in Waste," "Money and Economy," "The Heart of Permaculture," "Suburban Backyard Gardens: Cultivating Abundance," and "Transforming Communities Through Local Business."

The video is an interview with Keith Farnish from Scotland about how we can reverse some of the negative impacts of "civilization" on the human race, the earth's animals, and the earth herself. In it, he argues that we in the "civilized world" are living a way of life that needs to end. Industrial civilization, he says, is the most destructive way that humans have ever lived.
